HOW TO BOOST YOUR MENU TO BOOST YOUR CUSTOMERS

(and how being a part of the Motto Motto franchises in Australia can help!)

No matter how popular a menu is or how long a restaurant has been around, any successful restaurateur will tell you that you can never rest on your laurels. The market can be fickle and consumer trends (and appetites!) are changing non-stop.

One of the most effective ways to spark interest in your venue is to change up your menu offering. Even just one new attention-grabbing product can be an absolute gamechanger.

Think a clash of cuisines, a modern twist on an old favourite or adding in a unique ingredient. Take notes from the viral food trends that have risen to fame in the past: Cronuts™, ramen burgers, corn ribs, vodka pasta and even cloud bread.

Motto Motto has also experienced its fair share of menu superstars, with its very own Japanese spin on a classic lobster roll and a katsu and seaweed salt version of the Aussie beach staple fish ‘n’ chips. Both dishes were offered as limited-time specials, adding a sense of urgency to their unique appeal.

The restaurant has also boosted its permanent menu with the addition of two exciting new food styles recently.

MM’s snack-sized showstopper

Motto Motto’s popular bao buns are a great example of a kitchen fusing cuisine styles to pique customer interest – in this case, a Japanese spin on a Chinese classic. Featuring premium Japanese ingredients like saké pickles, yuzu mayo, shredded pork belly and crispy fried chicken, MM’s Japanese-style baos are certainly turning heads and delighting taste buds.

There are five unique flavour combinations to choose from, including Spicy Chicken Karaage, Yuzu Chicken Karaage, Teriyaki Chicken Karaage, Sweet Soy Pork Belly and Spicy Pork Belly.

Riding the burger wave

While MM’s fresh baos are an ideal light snack option, those with heartier appetites will be satiated by the restaurant’s much-hyped burger range. Again featuring a divine fusion of culinary styles, the burgers are a great introductory product for those who haven’t dined at Motto before.

Long lauded for their bowls of rice, ramen and curry, the launch of MM’s distinctive burgers was a sensational step away from convention for the restaurant brand.

The burgers have experienced a huge growth in popularity and feature premium ingredients like Aussie-farmed 6+ marble score Wagyu beef, panko-crumbed pork from the Northern Rivers of NSW, Japanese-style accompaniments and pillow-soft Motto milk buns.

Four burger styles run from a hot and spicy Japanese free-range fried chicken burger with lettuce, saké pickles and traditional Japanese mayo, through to a lobster and prawn croquette with thinly sliced white cabbage and yuzu Japanese mayo.

Tempting customers with your own ‘bao’

You might not want to introduce bao on your own menu, but you can tempt customers into your café, restaurant or hotel with your own taste sensation. Take a page out of MM’s book, and look for something new and innovative that will drive customers through your door again and again.
