MOTTO MOTTO JOINS MARRICKVILLE METRO DEVELOPMENT

Motto Motto will open its 10th store at the new-look Marrickville Metro in Sydney’s inner west.

The Japanese casual dining chain joins other franchised brands including hospitality firms C9Chocolate and Gelato and Coco Fresh Tea & Juice, and service business Barber Industries.

The new development runs parallel to the existing centre and is on track to open in June 2021.

AMP Capital has revealed some of the new retailers in what is slated to be the Inner West’s newest hub blending retail, food and drinks, art and culture.

As Marrickville’s population continues to grow and is predicted to reach around 437,000 by the end of 2021, Marrickville Metro has designed the new space to help meet the growing demands of the local community.

Dean Young, Marrickville Metro, centre manager, said “Our vision for this development has been to create an inclusive space that adds convenience and lifestyle opportunities for those who live within our local community.”

The fresh food precinct will be anchored by a new Coles supermarket, which brings another fresh
choice to the current offer of Woolworths, ALDI and Panetta Mercato. Coles will have a large range of plant-based food options and a focus on reducing waste with close to expiry date foods being donated to Secondbite and a collection point for soft plastics which will be recycled by Replas.

Pop-up spaces for casual leasing are also available to encourage greater diversity and opportunity
for the local community to contribute to the development.

Marrickville Metro has previously worked with community groups such as local re-use centre, Reverse Garbage, Enmore TAFE NSW, Li’l Crafters and Newtown Neighbourhood Centre and will continue to support and encourage similar community initiatives in the new site.
