Motto Motto Heads West: Three Perth Restaurants Opening in 10 Weeks

Three new restaurants. One new state. And another major step in Motto Motto’s national growth story.

Motto Motto Japanese Kitchen is officially heading west, with three franchise-owned restaurants opening across Perth in just 10 weeks.

Our first Western Australian restaurants will open at Currambine Central in mid-September, Galleria Shopping Centre on 19 November and Midland Gate in late November.

Together, the three restaurants represent more than $2 million in franchisee investment, will create over 80 local jobs, and mark our fastest-ever entry into a new Australian state.

And we’re only getting started.

From Brisbane beginnings to a growing national network

Motto Motto has come a long way since 2019, when the network consisted of five restaurants generating approximately $6 million in annual network sales.

By December 2026, we expect to reach 30 restaurants nationally, with the network forecast to exceed $60 million in annual retail sales next year.

Importantly, that growth isn’t coming from new restaurant openings alone.

In our most recent quarter, comparable-store sales increased by more than 12%, while comparable-store transactions grew 8.2%.

For us, sustainable growth means building new restaurants while continuing to strengthen the performance of the network already behind us.

Why Western Australia?

We see significant long-term potential for Motto Motto in WA.

Rather than entering Perth with a single restaurant, we’re launching with three locations and two experienced multi-site franchise partners from the outset.

Our goal is to grow to 10 Western Australian restaurants within the next four years.

Motto Motto Chief Operating Officer Matt Fickling says the scale of the launch reflects the confidence behind the brand.

“This is not a one-site test of the Perth market. We are entering Western Australia with three restaurants, two experienced multi-site franchise partners and a clear goal to build a network of 10 locations over the next four years.”

The next chapter is already taking shape

Motto Motto is on track to open 10 new restaurants during 2026, compared with six in 2025.

And we’re already looking beyond this year.

We’re building a development pipeline of 10 new locations for 2027, with opportunities being explored across Western Australia, South Australia, Queensland and New South Wales.

As we grow, we’re looking to connect with experienced multi-site franchise partners who share our ambition for the brand and want to be part of its next chapter.

Our approach is simple: the right partners, the right locations and sustainable restaurant economics.
